An indwelling bladder catheter may be inserted for therapeutic or diagnostic reasons. An indwelling bladder catheter must be placed under sterile conditions. Nosocomial urinary tract infections are a common presentation and are predominantly associated with transurethral indwelling bladder catheters. In this video, the correct performance of the insertion in male patients is shown.
